Toyota Motor Philippines has finally launched the 2020 Hiace Super Grandia, and if you’re on the hunt for a corporate-level hauler, this might be your best bet—at least, if you’re not willing to shell out more than P3.7 million for an Alphard.
So, the question on everyone’s minds: How much? Well, the Hiace Super Grandia starts at P2,420,000 and is available in three trim levels. You get exterior styling similar to that of Australia’s Luxury Granvia, a different suspension setup from the standard van, one of the most impressive—if not the most impressive—interiors in its class, and a 2.8-liter engine capable of 174hp and 450Nm of torque. This will come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The suspension setup comprises MacPherson struts up front and four-link coil springs in the back, while ventilated disc brakes can be found all around. The van sits on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Below are the official prices of the 2019 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia:
2020 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia prices
Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Fabric – P2,420,000
Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Fabric Two-Tone – P2,435,000
Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Leather – P2,510,000
Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Leather Two-Tone – P2,525,000
Toyota Hiace Super Grancia Elite – P2,875,000
Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Elite Two-Tone – P2,890,000
Let’s talk about the interior experience because that’s what this vehicle is mostly about.
Inside, passengers will be greeted by two pairs of plush captain’s chairs in the rear and tons of room, though only Elite units get ottomans and power adjustment. Depending on which trim level you get, you’ll have either plenty of fabric or leather. If you’ll be doing most of the driving, the dashboard features the same ergonomic layout found in regular Hiace units. The Super Grandia, however, features a smart entry system with keyless ignition.
Also worth noting is the availability of the Super Grandia with Toyota Safety Sense, the Japanese car manufacturer’s active safety technology. This includes features like a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, and automatic high beam. The inclusion of this package might make this van the safest model in its class. This is in addition to safety features like ABS vehicle stability control with brake assist, clearance and back sonars, a reversing camera, and nine airbags, among others.

Since it was launched by All Weather Industries (AWI) in Ireland in September 2017, Dam Easy Flood Barriers quickly took the country by storm. The off-the-shelf, easy to install quality flood protection barrier has been such a hit with Irish consumers that the rest of the world soon followed suit.
“In 2018, out biggest market was the USA with about 60/40 split of commercial to residential. [Currently] our number one city in the world is Hong Kong with a 50/50 split. This year the mix is changing as we expand. Mainland Europe is becoming very strong and so is the Middle East,” AWI Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Brian Mooney revealed during the product’s recent Manila launch.
Dam Easy Flood Barriers are now sold in 28 countries through 21 distribution partners and its own online channels.
Here in Asia, AWI recently partnered with Scottsdale Corp. to launch the Dam Easy Flood Barriers in the Philippines. Under the partnership agreement, Scottsdale Corp. will be the sole distributor of Dam Easy in the Philippines. During the launch where the product was demonstrated, both Mooney and Scottsdale President Cheriza Manalang were one in saying that the Philippines is an ideal market for Dam Easy Flood Barriers.
“The Philippines is at risk for disasters including floods and typhoons. There were numerous typhoons make landfall here every year.” Manalang noted.
And it’s not just households in residential areas that stand to benefit from Dam Easy Flood Barriers.
As a result of Dam Easy’s effectiveness in the residential areas in Metro Manila that it initially serviced, Manalang said an increasing number of commercial establishments were now Scottsdale’s growing clients.
“More and more companies are realizing the considerable losses they incur when their establishments are flooded,” she said.
