Toyota Motor Philippines has finally launched the 2020 Hiace Super Grandia, and if you’re on the hunt for a corporate-level hauler, this might be your best bet—at least, if you’re not willing to shell out more than P3.7 million for an Alphard.
So, the question on everyone’s minds: How much? Well, the Hiace Super Grandia starts at P2,420,000 and is available in three trim levels. You get exterior styling similar to that of Australia’s Luxury Granvia, a different suspension setup from the standard van, one of the most impressive—if not the most impressive—interiors in its class, and a 2.8-liter engine capable of 174hp and 450Nm of torque. This will come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The suspension setup comprises MacPherson struts up front and four-link coil springs in the back, while ventilated disc brakes can be found all around. The van sits on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Let’s talk about the interior experience because that’s what this vehicle is mostly about.
Inside, passengers will be greeted by two pairs of plush captain’s chairs in the rear and tons of room, though only Elite units get ottomans and power adjustment. Depending on which trim level you get, you’ll have either plenty of fabric or leather. If you’ll be doing most of the driving, the dashboard features the same ergonomic layout found in regular Hiace units. The Super Grandia, however, features a smart entry system with keyless ignition.
Also worth noting is the availability of the Super Grandia with Toyota Safety Sense, the Japanese car manufacturer’s active safety technology. This includes features like a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, and automatic high beam. The inclusion of this package might make this van the safest model in its class. This is in addition to safety features like ABS vehicle stability control with brake assist, clearance and back sonars, a reversing camera, and nine airbags, among others.
