If you’ve been holding off from buying a midsize SUV in hopes of a newer release, here’s some good news for you: Ford Philippines has finally launched the new and improved Everest midsize SUV.
The latest version of the American car manufacturer’s popular SUV will be available in two variants. Check them out below together with their prices:
2019 Ford Everest
Ford Everest 2.0L Turbo Titanium 4x2 AT – P1,995,000
Ford Everest 2.0L Bi-turbo Titanium+ 4x4 AT – P2,299,000
The new top-spec Everest gets the same 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine as the Ranger Raptor capable of 211hp at 3,750rpm and 500Nm of torque between 1,750 to 2,000rpm. The 2.0L Titanium 4x2, meanwhile, packs a new 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine with an output of 178hp at 3,500rpm and 420Nm at 1,750 to 2,500rpm. Both power units come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Changes to the design are relatively subtle: New wheel designs, a new-look front bumper, and some bi-turbo badging if you get the new top-of-the-line unit. We’ll get more in-depth with the midsize SUV’s design in a follow-up story.
Features include an automated liftgate out back, Active Park Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Vehicle Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, a Lane Keeping System, and keyless entry.
“Given its track record in the Philippines, we are confident that the new Ford Everest will give Filipino customers a ride no less than extraordinary, building on its position as one of the smartest and safest SUVs in its class,” PK Umashankar, Ford Philippines managing director, said in a statement.
We’ll have driving impressions up on our website soon, so stay tuned. What do you think of the new and improved Everest? Are you digging the changes Ford has made to its midsize SUV?

Samsung has announced the latest entries to its big-screen flagship series. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus have arrived, and we have all the details you need about these smartphones, which will be released in the Philippines later this month.
Locally, the smaller and lower-specced Galaxy Note 10 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at P53,990 (around $1,033 converted), while the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is going to set you back P60,990 ($1,167) for 12GB RAM and the same amount of storage. Samsung has set the price of the top-spec Note 10 Plus sporting 512GB storage at P72,990 ($1,397), but the only way to get it is through a preorder at a participating retailer.
Available in white and black colors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 range’s first day of release in the Philippines is August 23, the same day the phones hit stores in Korea and other parts of the world. That’s good news if you’re in the market for a new flagship phone and saving money isn’t a huge criteria.
The series has undergone a slight facelift, yet its overall look and functionality remains intact. The S Pen stylus, a long-time differentiator of the Note devices, looks unchanged at first glance — it’s even the same size for both Note 10 models — but it now supports air-gesture controls first introduced with the Galaxy Tab S6.The S Pen stylus, a long-time differentiator of the Note devices, now supports air-gesture controls
Among the gestures Samsung introduced are swipe-left and swipe-right, which allow you to scroll through photos. Twirling the stylus in a circular motion, on the other hand, lets you zoom in and out. As with the Galaxy Note 9, you can press the button on the S Pen to take pictures.

Crazy Rich Asians, a 2018 film showcasing the luxe life (and love life) of crazy rich Asian people, particularly some Chinese families. Apparently, there is quite a handful of real-life “crazy rich” families in the Philippines as well. Despite its being a third-world country, one can never doubt the fact that it is home to dozens of known names in the society that are living the high life. Prominent names such as the Marcoses, Ayalas, Lopezes, Roxases, Tecsons, Tuasons, Yuchengcos, and Tans among others have graced the streets of Manila since the 1800s. They were definitely the ‘it’ crowd and the epitome of elegance and luxury spending. From traveling abroad monthly to spending an easy 10 million for a child’s birthday party, these Filipino elites sure know how to celebrate their financial success.
They need not boast of their hefty wealth since it is always evident in their myriad of extravagant properties, especially their homes, which are in fact taken care of by at least a dozen pack of househelps. Many of these homes were adorned with exquisite wood furniture (made exclusively by famous craftsmen) and a few fabulous classic paintings by the likes of Amorsolo and Hidalgo. Of course, these luxurious home décors fit perfectly in the traditional pre-Colonial mansions and have been well-thought-of even for the smallest trinkets that are made of either silver or gold. Some elite men even house cars as many as a hundred in their well-maintained garages. And not to mention how grand parties are in these posh “little” mansions. Anyone who’s anyone is definitely on the guest list!
TOSOT U-Crown Split Type Aircon Premium Features
As expected, a very chic home deserves an equally premium air-conditioning unit materialized by TOSOT in their U-Crown Split Type Air-Conditioner. This wall mounted aircon is a combination of elegance with a hint of modern and innovative technology, perfect for luxurious ancestral houses and modern homes. Here are a few other reasons why Philippine elite families choose TOSOT U-Crown Split Type Aircon.
