The Coca-Cola Company has announced the release of its latest product described as a “supersoda.” Carrying the name Thunder, the beverage is a first in the Philippines as it falls under the energy drink category but given the popular taste of soda or “soft drinks” as commonly called in the local market.
“We are on the way to becoming a truly total beverage company. After several innovations in the juice and water segments, we are now launching a highly attractive product that delivers great taste and a strong energy kick which is new in the Philippines,” Coca-Cola Philippines Marketing Director Stephan Czypionka informed The Manila Times in a statement.
The beverage contains “zero sugar and calories,” and yet provides a power boost with a kick of caffeine and a splash of extra fruity flavor in two flavors, Citrus Shock and Fruit Bomb.

Chinese cars didn't have a great start in the Philippines, that much is clear.
Much of the negative reputation can be credited to the Chery QQ. It wasn't the model itself but the way the brand was handled in the country, particularly with aftersales. We can't really stress how bad the taste was left in the mouth for many Filipino motorists and early corporate adopters of low-cost, four-wheeled mobility.
Surprising it was not when Chery pulled out, not just once but twice from our market. Many of the early Chinese brands in the market faded out too, with a few exceptions.
