HINO Motors Philippines (HMP), the exclusive distributor of Hino trucks and buses in the country, presented the upgraded FC9JL7A medium-duty truck model at the recently concluded Transport and Logistics Expo at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The truck manufacturer is set to maximize the capacity of its products to meet the needs of drivers and customers, as well as keeping up with the growing demands of the transport and logistics industries.

Based under the Hino 500 truck series, the reengineered Hino FC9JL7A medium-duty truck is designed to deliver powerful driving performance, high durability, ergonomic comfort, good transport quality and flexible body-building capability. Noteworthy is the fresh cabin design with good trims and materials along with added convenience features which add to the good driving experience factor. Hino recognizes the need to have comfort and convenience features for drivers. This, in turn, positively affects the productivity and safety of drivers in carrying out their daily tasks.
“For example, this particular unit [Hino FC9JL7A] is already air-conditioned for the driver. Because the observation is, when the driver is comfortable, they take good of the unit and less accidents happen. This is statistically proven elsewhere and therefore unit is taken good care of and goods are being delivered on time,” HMP Chairman Vicente Mills Jr. explained.
Propelling this newly upgraded truck is a J05E-TY 5.1-liter Euro 4-compliant four-cylinder turbodiesel with Direct Injection and Electronic Control Commonrail fuel injection system delivering 207 hp and 637 N-m of maximum torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and synchromesh (2nd to 6th). Other significant upgrades done include a higher gradeability of 45.2 percent, as well as increased resume-accelerate (R/A) gear ratio of 4.88 from 4.33. Wheelbase was also increased to 4,990 mm. Even the alternator limit has been increased from 60 amperes to 90 amperes.
Better interior trims and materials with added convenience features
Moreover, the fuel tank capacity has doubled from 100 liters to 200 liters for maximum volume. Safety-wise, the air over hydraulic brakes are enhanced with anti-lock braking system (ABS) for a safer driving experience. As for added convenience, air-conditioning system and power windows have been added.

Also showcased were other Hino trucks, including the Cerito class two and three.
